Tallinn European School follows the Early Education Curriculum of the European School:
Early Education Curriculum

We have an English Section only which consists of three groups at the Nursery level:

  • Nursery 1

Pupils are accepted to Nursery 1 if they are four years old or turn four before the end of December.

• We currently have one Nursery 1 group.

  • Nursery 2

Pupils are accepted to Nursery 2 if they are five years old or turn five before the end of December.

• We currently have two Nursery 2 groups:
• Nursery 2 – pupils who learn English as their first language.
• Nursery Combined – pupils who learn English as their first language with the exception of a few pupils who has French as their L1. French L1 classes in Nursery Combined will be phased out during the next academic year.

Subject Lessons

Pupils in the Nursery section have some lessons with subject teachers:

  • English L1/L2 – 3 lessons per week
  • Motor Skills – 1 lesson per week
  • Music – 1 lesson per week
  • Estonian – 1 lesson per week

Aftercare and extra-curricular activities

We offer aftercare service for the younger pupils. Nursery children have the possibility to stay in the aftercare class from 16:00 to 18:00. During the afternoons, pupils can also participate in extra-curricular activities.

Educational Visits and Special Events

  • First Term

All nursery pupils participated in safety training by the Red Cross. Students learned about possible dangers and how to avoid them but also found out what to do when accidents do happen.

Nursery 2 and Nursery Combined visited the Health Care Museum to find out interesting facts about their bodies, senses and health.

  • Second Term

All Nursery pupils will visit the Traffic Play Center where they will learn practical lessons about road safety.

We will celebrate the holiday season by baking together and we invite parents to join us for our traditional Breakfast with Parents, to decorate gingerbread cookies and have wonderful moments together.

The Festive Season is upon us and our pupils are getting ready to rehears their performances for our Annual Christmas Concert.
